Job Purpose:

1. Lecturing of game design and digital design module

2. Marking of assessments and providing thorough constructive feedback

3. Participation in the moderation process

4. Intentional academic student support to ensure the academic success of students

Education:

Ideal:
Honours Degree / Masters in a design field, such as Multimedia Design, Game Design or Digital Arts experience in 3D character animation

NB: Extensive knowledge and experience of web and mobile front-end development, including Html5, CSS3, JavaScript, Jquery and IDE's such as Angular.js for mobile app design

Work Experience:

At least 3 years industry experience in web and mobile front-end design and development, including Html5, CSS3, JavaScript, Jquery and IDE's such as Angular.js for mobile app design; Knowledge / experience in designing with Augmented Reality will be considered a bonus.

Experience and portfolio in Adobe Creative Cloud Software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, with experience in video and audio editing software (such as  Adobe Premiere and After Effects).  Understanding of online communication platforms, such as blog and basic web design required. Minimum 2 years experience in Digital Media is required. Experience in BlackBoard and teaching an advantage

Key Performance Area:

Deliver the module in such a manner as to achieve the stated subject outcomes within the assigned contact hours.

The assessment of student work within the stipulated marking and moderation cycle and provide constructive feedback to students and reporting any students concerns to the Relationship Navigator.

Class preparation and development of lesson plans in a constructivist learning approach.

Proactively participates in Vega events, such as Open Days, Graduation and others. Arrange for the appropriate guest lecturer to support application to the world of work.

Operate in line with The Independent Institute of Education's (The IIE) policies.
