Job Purpose:

Lecturing and academic delivery to ensure students are guided and supported in their learning to achieve module outcomes.


Honours Degree / Masters in a creative writing field, such as Copywriting / Journalism

Work Experience:

A minimum 3 years' experience as a writer in the creative brand communication industry eg production company; media house; advertising agency; in-house brand / corporate communication department, digital content creation  freelance writer or owner of own agency.

A relevant portfolio of work; should be passionate about teaching and should communicate with eloquence and coherence.

Computer literacy essential, experience in Misrosoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint required for academic administration and delivery; knowledge  in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premier Pro plus experience in the pre-production, production and/or post-production of audio and audio-visual  advertising will be an advantage.

Key Performance Area:

Deliver the module in such a manner as to achieve the stated subject outcomes within the assigned contact hours.

The assessment of student work within the stipulated marking and moderation cycle and provide constructive feedback to students and reporting any students concerns to the Student Relations Co-ordinator.

Class preparation and development of lesson plans in a constructivist learning approach.

Proactively participates in Vega events, such as Open Days, Graduation and others.

Arrange for the appropriate guest lecturer to support application to the world of work.

Operate in line with The Independent Institute of Education's (The IIE) policies.
