Job Purpose:

The Wellness and Social Action Coordinator assists in ensuring the Social and Emotional Wellbeing of Vega Students as well as Staff Members. The coordinator will also assist in the Campus€™s Social Action initiatives and community events and the marketing thereof.

This position requires a flexible thinker who can work collaboratively with various stakeholder groups including navigators, parents, students, administrators, and community members.

Education:

Studying towards Social Work or Psychology degree.

Functional Competencies:

Strong administrative skills

Ability to build thoughtful relationships with school staff, students, and local community

Ability to work with Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Basic Graphic Design Skills/Ability to use Canva/Crello or similar design programmes

Reliable Transportation; ability to travel daily is required

Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently

Understanding and ability to manage confidential information

High quality written and verbal communication skills

Work Experience:

Experience in an urban and/or school turnaround setting is a plus.

Strong administrative and organisational skills and a love for education.

Key Performance Area:

Facilitate and support Wellness Manager with various Campus events such as Midas Touch, Wellness Days, Blood Drives, Social Action Events etc.

Develop and implement marketing material and campaigns to ensure the success and awareness of abovementioned events

Coordinate school sponsored community-based programs

Work together with the Student SLB in helping coordinate various Social Events throughout the year.

Lead and Facilitate Talks such as Empower Sessions which assist students with various challenges and difficulties they experience whilst being a student at Vega, these topics vary from Coping with Stress and Anxiety to Time Management

Performs other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

  • Campus Environment.
  • Must be able to work evenings and Saturdays when required.
