Job Purpose:

Lecturing and academic delivery to ensure students are guided and supported in their learning to achieve module outcomes. Classes take place in the evenings.

Education:

Ideal:
Doctoral Degree that aligns with the discipline of the programme on which the module is being offered and to which the successful incumbent will be assigned.     

Alternatively:
Master's Degree that includes a research methodology subject and a research dissertation/ project in the discipline of the programme on which the module is being offered and to which the successful incumbent will be assigned. There should also be a generalized research methodology component on the successful incumbent's undergraduate transcript.

 

Work Experience:

Lecturing experience in research methods/ quantitative techniques/ research design and development of research models would be preferable.
Work experience as a statistician/ mathematical analysis/ planning, execution and evaluation of research projects.
Being involved in research in the completion of a dissertation utilising qualitative, quantitative or mixed method approaches.
Being involved in the publication of research work in peer reviewed and/or accredited journal.

Key Performance Area:

Deliver the module in such a manner as to achieve the stated subject outcomes within the assigned contact hours.

The assessment of student work within the stipulated marking and moderation cycle and provide constructive feedback to students and reporting any students concerns to the Student Relations Co-ordinator.

Class preparation and development of lesson plans in a constructivist learning approach.

Proactively participates in Vega events, such as Open Days, Graduation and others.

Arrange for the appropriate guest lecturer to support application to the world of work.

Operate in line with The Independent Institute of Education's (The IIE) policies.
