Job Purpose:

Academic delivery to ensure students are guided and supported in their learning to achieve module outcomes. Classes take place in the evenings.


In order to lecture on this module, the successful incumbent needs to have a minimum of a Research Masters in a cognate field of the qualification they will be teaching on and preferably lecturing experience in research methodology.

NQF 9 qualification that includes an academic research* component
A Research Methodology module should have been successfully completed at NQF 8
If you do not have a Research Masters then the you must have completed a Research Methodology Module as part of your NQF 9 qualification.

Work Experience:

In order to supervise, the successful incumbent must have successfully supervised and delivered at least 5 Honours students.

At least a Masters in a cognate field without supervision experience will be allowed to supervise students under the supervision of an experienced lead supervisor.

Key Performance Area:

Deliver the module in such a manner as to achieve the stated subject outcomes within the assigned contact hours.

The assessment of student work within the stipulated marking and moderation cycle and provide constructive feedback to students and reporting any students concerns to the Student Relations Co-ordinator.

Class preparation and development of lesson plans in a constructivist learning approach.

Proactively participates in Vega events, such as Open Days, Graduation and others.

Arrange for the appropriate guest lecturer to support application to the world of work.

Operate in line with The Independent Institute of Education's (The IIE) policies.
