The purpose of this module is to consider brand management from an ''inside out" and "outside in" perspective to guide the management of a sustainable brand by the brand owner. Students will develop knowledge and understanding of both external and internal environmental variables to be considered when developing brand strategies and plans, both locally and internationally. The focus is on commercial and entrepreneurial brand management practice and the associated strategic and operational dimensions. Brands will be analysed in context of the market environment and stakeholder relations within which they are built.
Masters in Commerce (NQF level 9) in Brand Strategy/Strategic Marketing / Marketing/ Strategy/ Leadership/ Brand Management. Honours in Commerce with Brand Management/Entrepreneurship/Strategy/Marketing/ Management in 1st - 3rd year during undergrad studies, with accounting or finance to 2nd year.
Masters (NQF level 9) in one of the Business related fields (e.g. entrepreneurship, management, economics) with an Honours and undergrad degree with modules in Brand Management/Marketing/Management/Leadership/Strategy through 1st - 3rd year
Require industry experience in brand management, marketing management and setting targets and running budgets.
Key Performance Area:
Deliver the module in such a manner as to achieve the stated subject outcomes within the assigned contact hours.
The assessment of student work within the stipulated marking and moderation cycle and provide constructive feedback to students and reporting any students concerns to the Student Relations Co-ordinator.
Class preparation and development of lesson plans in a constructivist learning approach.
Proactively participates in Vega events, such as Open Days, Graduation and others.
Arrange for the appropriate guest lecturer to support application to the world of work.
Operate in line with The Independent Institute of Education's (The IIE) policies.
